PETRONAS has announced the selection of 20 startups from across the Asia Pacific region to participate in the third edition of its FutureTech accelerator program. This initiative, co-organized with StartupX Pte. Ltd., aims to foster innovation and collaboration between startups and multi-industry corporations. The selected startups come from diverse countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, India, and Australia, and offer innovative solutions in areas such as no-code robotics programming, green chemistry, EV battery swapping, hydrogen storage, and AI-enabled carbon emission monitoring
In addition to the 20 startups, five more from PETRONAS’ internal innovation programs, PETRONAS Innovation Garage and SEEd.Lab, will join the FutureTech 3.0 cohort. This blend of external and internal startups is expected to create a synergy of technological and social development solutions. The 16-week hybrid program will kick off with an industry immersion week in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, featuring experiential learning and site visits. Participants will also have the opportunity to showcase their solutions at Energy Asia 2023
FutureTech 3.0 has also attracted seven new corporate partners, including Gentari Sdn Bhd, Tenaga Nasional Berhad, and Hyundai Motor Company, among others. The program is further supported by ecosystem partners like Cradle, MDEC, and Microsoft. This extensive network of partners and supporters underscores PETRONAS’ commitment to driving sustainable innovation and providing startups with greater market access for growth and scalability across the region.
